if you haven’t seen the 1st video of my six-part series, please check it out before viewing this one. In it we address crucial questions: What does it mean to be “invasive”? Is there any evidence that Snakeheads are “invasive”? In this video, we discuss the 1st International Snakehead Symposium, which involved fisheries scientists and biologists from around the U.S. and the world. We learn about what the experience has been with Snakehead thus far and come away with one central finding: to date, there is no evidence of harm caused by Snakeheads. We also discuss the different species of Snakehead in the U.S., how large they can grow, and ask a another question: what problems have others outside the DELMARVA area had with Snakehead thus far? The answer from Hawaii: we don’t have ENOUGH Snakehead! Subsequent portions of the interview will discuss the latest science from the 1st International Snakehead Symposium (held in 2018), detailing how Snakehead reproduce, what they eat, how they travel, common myths and misconceptions, and much, much more. If you have questions or comments, please let me know. A word of warning though folks: I assume that anyone commenting on this video is doing so because they have a point to make. They want to sway others to take a certain position or set of actions which they view as beneficial in some way. However, the fastest way to defeat your own goal in swaying others is this: attacking them. As soon as you attack someone, it generally deteriorates into drama and the flinging of vitriol back and forth. That’s not what I’m about. I hate drama. I don’t go fishing to find drama: I go fishing to escape it. So let’s respect one another, and find a path toward constructive conversation. Have a good one folks!
